HOME-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
“The heart of the Waldorf method is that education is an art – it must speak to the child's experience. To educate the whole child, his heart and his will must be reached, as well as his mind." – Rudolf Steiner
For children in grades 1-6 who home-school, we offer enrichment classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 11:00 and 3:30. Classes include Spanish, Yoga, Singing/Movement, Music (wooden flute, recorder or fiddle), Handwork (Knitting, Crocheting, Embroidery), Community Service, and Art (drawing, painting, beeswax/clay modeling, form drawing).
Home-schooled children may also attend on Fridays between 8:30 and 3:30 when the learning focus is on nature and science. Using a combination of field trips, outdoor study, and indoor classroom study, students gain an appreciation for nature and build a strong science foundation. The curriculum includes nature walks, journaling, gardening, year-long study projects, baking, outdoor games, and seasonal crafts.
